Yoga is something that I love doing but I don't always have time to go to a studio for. As most places they have set schedules and times and i usually don't get home from work in time or there is only one class I can make. Needless to say, when I do practice it often ends up being at home. Which is fine and I think that if anyone doesn't want to go to a studio they can easily enough do it on their own. I would recommend going to a studio if you have never done it before at least a few times so you can make sure you are doing the positions correct. But that isn't to say you cant find anything online these days. I am always for exercising in the privacy of my own home. Another added benefit is you can practice for as long as you want and as little as you want. If I only have time to squeeze in a half hour its perfect I can do it and then continue with my day I don't have to drive there and back. Plus there are great apps and websites out there for it. You can grab a yoga book and do the poses by yourself at home. It is nice to have an instructor but it all depends on you and what you feel most comfortable doing. There are some great Yoga apps out there for this too. there are computer apps and phone apps, sometimes its helpful to have your whole computer screen.
I like to meditate as well, I usually set time (about 10 minutes) a day to meditate. Sometimes more or less, in the morning if I have time i will do a quick morning meditation and right before I go to bed I will do a night meditation to wind down and clear my mind. Often times i will just go on YouTube there are a lot of resources, but I will also use an app that I can do before I go to work or pop my headphones in an listen to. I understand when people say they don't always have the time, because I was always like that or I take a few days off. I honestly notice a difference, sometimes I just need the space to be able to clear my mind. I am constantly going between work, modeling, my commute, the mastermind group I am in and then just everyday life errands and activities. It can be exhausting so every day even for ten minutes this is my escape. It has really helped with not getting angry so easily when things don't work out the way I want, or being stuck in traffic. Taking time for myself to recharge has honestly been something I had to remember to do becasue I would get busy and not do anything for myself.
Yoga and meditation are sometimes combined for a guided meditation and yoga class and its amazing. I can honestly say the best thing you can do for yourself is to help your mental heath and clear your mind. Any time I meditate or leave the studio I always feel so much lighter and refreshed. Its important to remember that you have to make an effort and fully immerse yourself in the mediation, just arriving to yoga Isn't always going to help. A combined work out will get you moving and then allowing yourself to practice the breaking and getting into yourself will always help. With practice you learn to let go of things and clear your mind. It might not seem like a big deal, but it really is being able to just breathe and let things go is so beneficial.
